Since long not anymore supported.
When installed with neglecting the TB version this extension seems to work, but doesn't.

I used this add-on for a while, but since TB13 is released, this doesn't work anymore. I switched to SmtpSelect, which also does the job.
I hope the author can make the add-on compatible again.

I think this is a excellent and extremelly useful add-on when using a laptop in multiple networks, requiring multiple smtp-servers. I rellay hope there soon will be a version that is compatible with Thunderbird 10.

Last night I upgraded to Thunderbird 5.0 and SendVia (1.0.2) was flagged as one of the incompatible addons.
I installed Add-on Compatibility Reporter 0.8.5, turned off compatibility checking and so far SendVia seems to be working fine. So it might just be a case of changing the install file.
Do you have any plans for an updated version?

Excellent add-on for whoever uses more than one email account.
I use a local SMTP server at work (the fastest) plus my home ISP provider plus gmail and I usually prefere the local server. However, some mailing lists (which I always subscribe using gmail) hate that @gmail.com mails come from wherever else, so, if I post to any of these lists, I simply choose gmail in sendVia.
Recently, SORBS went mad with its DUHL RBL and started blocking our (thightly configured, never used for spam) local server. I got a couple of bounces because of it and now, when I have to send to these addresses, I simply choose my home ISP's SMTP server using sendVia.

this is brilliant! I was struggling because my internet provider was blocking the doors for certain servers. this solved all my issues! and works!
Thanks a lot for that!

SendVia is a simple yet very useful add-on for those who use more than one SMTP server to send their mails. It works perfectly well. However, it adds a pointless self-reference in the drop-down menu, and uses the "Options" button in the add-on manager entry to display an "About" window. The french localization is of decent quality, even though it contains a few typos (use of three points instead of an ellipsis, with a misplaced space before the ellipsis; additionally there shouldn't be any ellipsis after the about entry). These issues are minor but nonetheless prevent me from giving the best mark.

SendVia is an excellent addon but it has a major flow: as I am sending lots of emails from various locations, my accounts are typically set to smtp. In this case no dropdown box appears from the send button and, for quite a long time, I thought that this addon is not working at all. Finally I realised that if I set the email account to other than smtp it works for that one account.

Finally, an SMTP control that is both easy to use and most importantly works properly. I have tried a lot of the other SMTP control add-ons (SMTP Control, SMTP Select, and SMTP Switch) and they all modified the 'Outgoing Server (SMTP)' setting in the account properties. SendVia does *NOT* alter the account properties. It really does send the message with the server you select with out modifying the account properties.
Finally an SMTP control that works the way I need it to!
Thank you for a wonderful job.

Great and simple but now I prefer to use SMTP Control Extension (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/7376) far way better to control SMTP Servers.
