My Reviews

AttachmentExtractor

Rated 4 out of 5 stars

It is a great shame that it appears that this Add On will no longer be supported or developed which means, inevitably, that as new glitches emerge with each new version of Thunderbird, it will eventually become unusable.

Personally I am now looking around for alternatives with similar functionality. I have found one - Save As PDF from Sperry Software but unfortunately it is only available for Outlook. I may end up having to install Outlook and drop Thunderbird.

AttachmentExtractor

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Attachment Extractor has a lot of features but the two basic things it does - which I would regard as essential for any usable email system (cannot understand why they are not found as standard but as far as I know only Attachment Extractor provides them) are:

1. The ability to quickly and easily move an email message to an ordinary computer folder with a suitable name such as yyyy mm dd tt.tt From Subject

2. The ability to have the email body, and each attachment appear as separate files:

yyyy mm dd tt.tt From Subject
yyyy mm dd tt.tt From Attachment filename1
yyyy mm dd tt.tt From Attachment filename2

I hope someone takes over development of this Add-on because it is, in my opinion, the single thing which makes Thunderbird better than the others.

An excellent Add-on. Now supporting snom phones with a general URL interface.

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.5.4).
