That's the add-on I still miss in newer TB. It was great in previous TB versions, it's a pity there isn't compatibility / new version for TB 100+.
But I give five stars for thanking the past use, and maybe to stimulate a new version... :)

I'm using TB 68.12.1 and gContactSync 3.1.6 still keeps getting google authorization error 400 "You can't sign in to this app because it doesn't comply with Google's OAuth 2.0 policy for keeping apps secure"
This used to happen already years ago ...
I don't see any improvement in this respect with the latest version ...

Having success with the CardDAV protocol instead of any add-ons - does this work for everyone? Add a new address book using CardDAV protocol, then use your gmail username and this url:

Bad luck, it's not compatible with version 102.3.0. Thanks to the developer for all his previous work. best regards.
Pas de chance, il n'est pas compatible avec la version 102.3.0 . Merci au développeur pour tout son travail précédent. meilleures salutations.

Excellent and very easy to use add-on. But latest version 3.2.0 is not compatible with Firefox 78.11.0.
Hope and wish it gets evolved, for now I'm temporarily using with success alternative add-on Google-4-TbSync:

Worked great until approx May 2021. Then I presume Google moved the goalposts and now all I get is:
gContactSync Refresh Token
Authorisation Error
Error 401: disabled_client
Sign in with Google temporarily disabled for this app. This app has not been verified yet by Google in order to use Google Sign In.
I believe the developer needs to register the app with Google, but as he has not done so (despite my writing to request it some while ago) I am left up a creek with no paddle. Perhaps he has become discouraged with all the mindless changes Google and Thunderbird keep throwing at him -- I wouldn't blame him. All the other sync add-ons have fallen by the wayside too. But with no way of syncing my PC, laptop and phone any more, disaster and chaos looms. Mailspring doesn't seem to do a good job with contacts, eM Client syncs but you can't enter an address in UK format. I tried syncing via Outlook.com but that has become complicated and the phone doesn't sync changes... Huge despair here. Been going on for months and my address book is in deep doo doo.

Flat out doesn't sync. Sad.

An addon on the feature that Tbird critically lacks now is killed by Tbird.
Tbird follows Fx faggot way: SJW above quality.
RIP Tbird. You was a great client...

I am the author of Google-4-TbSync, but I agree with Stephen J. Cowley to thank Josh Greenen for his useful work over the years: gContactSync did a superb job until TB 68.

gContactSync has been a great Add-on for TB <= 68; thanks to Josh Geenen for all his work. For TB >= 78 I have started using Google-4-TbSync. This Add-on is under development, but it seems to work, and when I reported a bug to the developer he fixed it in a couple of days.

Componente fondamentale con un account GMAIL. Non aggiornerò THUNDERBIR fino a quando non uscirà una versione compatibile

Without this addon, Thunderbird is useless for someone with a GMail Account!
Mozilla (or whatever organisation manages Thunderbird these days) should hire/pay that add-on developper and make this add-on standard, just like they did for Lightning.
Also, they should stop breaking their API, because everytime they do that, they just shrink the amount of add-ons that can be used, and therefore agressively diminish Thunderbird's attractiveness. Version 78 was the nail in the coffin. I have been using it since the mid-2000. Now I switched to another email client. Thunderbird you killed this add-on... and committed suicide!

Gcontactsync is so essential to me that I will NEVER update to a Thunderbird version that doesn't support it. Its author deserves praise and payment! And if he doesn't feel like continuing to update, then Thunderbird should stop breaking the addon with their updates! Gcontactsync ROCKS!

Hi this extension has saved my life until now! Simply great!
But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE release an update for TB 78.
If you relase it as permanent license I'll pay for it for sure!
