Doesn't seem to work - I don't see the functionality and Tools / Advanced Options just freezes, forcing me to end ThunderBird task.

Completely frozen after the settings, no save button, while the settings box is transparent. Here is the error: https://imgur.com/2ZX5bm2

Froze Thunderbird. This doesn't work anymore, don't install it.

It USED to work. With Thunderbird 60.2 stopped entirely. It doesn't show on the hamburger menu, but with the old one is still there. Only, clicking it doesn't do anything anymore.

I can not save settings in Advanced Unread Folders 2.4 with Thunderbird 60.2.1 because there is no save button!

This is a very useful tool if you have many folders. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with (my) TB 60; it no longer appears in the folder selection dropdown. No errors are shown.

Hi
After the latest addon update accounts with no unread e-mails are showing in the folder pane. Previously if there are no unread messages they are hidden.
Please restore that functionality.
Thanks

I would kick in a few dollars if this add-on would allow you to put this view on the toolbar so I do not have to search for it under the view | Folders menu then turn it off using the same method

I am very like it! But, with Thunderbird 24.0 - not working... :-(((

This add-on cannot remember the options you select (v 17.0.6), which makes it less useful in seeing what you'd prefer not to see. I'm pitching it because it does not offer a convenience.

I agree with bogman, this bug is still present with version 2. The choice of folders to display behave strangely sometimes, showing another folder in the tree, thus this one hasn't got new messages.

I've recently switched from KMail to TB and I'm hoping that a quick
trick can work around a bug in keyconfig. keyconfig keys for next and
previous messages (f,b,n,p) don't work if the folder is not shown in the
folders view. So rather than adding many folders to favorites would it
be possible to add to AUF the option to show all folders and place AUF
at the top? This would be similar to KMail and over the 7 years of using
KMail it's been proven a very productive feature. Thanks for your great
work.

Great add-on!
However, in TB 11, 12 and 13 beta (right now using the latter), clicking options and unchecking or checking more folders to always show makes no difference. My changes are not remembered at all! I can't give 5 stars because of this problem.
Can you please fix this?

Helps avoiding missing unnoticed unread emails. As long as there is no toggle shortcut and a toggle button to toggle quickly the add-on's "Unread (Advanced)"-command, this add-on is best used together with the "Folder Pane View Switcher" add-on. You get to the "Unread (Advanced)" view with just one click on the back arrow. ;-)
BTW, in my FF11 none of the options (either clicked or unclicked) stick after they are okayed.
I still miss an add-on that keeps indicating DIRECTLY on the TB interface if there is still some unread email in any folder (I use eight different accounts, and those that are collapsed don't betray at all if there is still an unread message in them).
Maybe some blinking sign or a blinking number (displaying the number of unread mails) in the status bar would help to draw attention to it that there are still unread emails somewhere. The number would stop blinking when there is no unread mail left.

what would make this even better, for me, is a shortcut key to switch it between "Unread (Advanced) and "All" :-)

Thanks for this extension! I had exactly the same wish: seeing just the unread folders, but with their place in the hierarchy (and most of all: the account to which they belong). It makes filtering messages into folders lots more useful, and catching up with various mailing lists and communities lots easier (almost a game of making all folders disappear).
To add a feature request: a similar (hierarchical) view for folders with starred messages, and/or messages with a particular tag, would be helpful too, to deal with the (often postponed) "need to follow-up" messages... :-)
