Toggle Proxy 1.9.1-signed.1-signed Requires Restart
The move to Webextensions by Mozilla for Firefox 57+ has made it impossible to modify about:config, this holds Firefox proxy settings. Therefore, this and many other addons will become obsolite from Firefox 57+ onwards unless Mozilla update the API.
About this Add-on
Toggle Proxy enables you to toggle between two proxies by left-clicking on the icon in the status-bar (or via the shortcut key ('alt + x' version 1.3)) or the toolbar icon (added in version 1.7 for Firefox), useful if you use different proxy settings at work and home. (e.g. auto=home, manual=university). The two proxies to toggle between can be selected via the preferences, availble via the add-on menu in the tools menu or right-clicking on the icon in the status bar.
Versrion 1.7 now includes a toolbar button for Firefox.
Version 1.5 now includes support for Thunderbird.
23/11/2012 - Added a toolbar option after feedback from reviewers. Decided to include it thanks to some contributions towards the continued support/development of this add-on - thank you to all of you who have contributed.
21/5/2011 - After reading the reviews I've recieved I'm am now in the process of trying to remember what I did nearly 2 years ago and add a shortcut key to the addon.
22/5/2011 - Adding the key wasn't too hard, hard bit now will be to add support so that it can be user specified. Once I've sorted that I'll update the addon.
24/5/2011 - Harder than I thought to add support for a user specified key so have submitted version 1.2 with a dedicated shortcut key (alt + t) whilst I work on a user specified key.
8/8/2011 - New version (1.4) now available. Fixed the French locale and added a Dutch locale.
28/5/2011 - Didn't realise alt+t would cause a problem as a shortcut key on Windows (doesn't on OS-X), have modified it to alt+x, tested on OS-X and Windows with no problems seen. New version uploaded (1.3) for review - should be available in a couple of days hopefully
