I used this add-on to address a serious failure of Thunderbird; the inability to insert a hyperlink as hypertext connected to a word or phrase.

It quit working with version 45.1, which Mozilla "pushed" onto my computer. Version 45 still did not address the problem with hyperlinking according to industry standards.

Confirmed. I finally fixed this and you will find that PasteHyperlink 1.5.3 works in TB 45. There are some other new features too.

Brilliant and simple as things should be.

Finally you don't have to do many click and copy operations to insert a hyperlink into a Thunderbird email with this tiny addon. Wonderful.

Yes, it is possible to post links- but without this the process takes several clicks and an IMO lame window to do it.

This one is much better. If you have the link in your clipboard you hit the icon and it goes.

Over the course of time cutting the number of steps will add up for power users and cut the entry barrier for rookies.

"Paste Hyperlink" and "Remove Hyperlink" buttons are conveniently added to the toolbar of the Compose Window.
Feature suggestion: recognize URLs in written text and convert these into working hyperlinks automatically.
Thank you!

Thanks for your review! As for your feature suggestion, I believe an addon is supposed to do "one thing well" and if I added the text-to-url, it would do two things! And there is already an addon that will convert urls into links (I have been using it for some time now, in fact): http://piro.sakura.ne.jp/xul/_textlink.html.en

Saves me time when adding links, thanks.
