Great extension but an update is needed!
Don't work properly with some Themes and mostly important don't work properly with TB3!

It does not work with Thunderbird 2 or on Mac OS X. Use "Thread views" extension instead.

WATCHED THREADS

This extension can be used for mail or newsgroups. Unfortunately, it does not allow you to 'watch' a thread or mark a thread as 'watched'. To mark a thread as 'watched', you must rename one of the Labels in Thunderbird to 'Watched', and then to label the thread to watch it. When you want to view all watched threads, you simply select 'Watched' from the View dropdownlist.

You can only view watched messages that are UNREAD. I'd like to be able to view ALL watched messages, whether read or unread. To view ALL watched threads, follow my instructions above. As Willy recommended on Nov 20, 2006 and Daniel Kabs on Mar 8, 2006, maybe the next version of this extension can have a button to show all watched threads (View > Watched Threads), not just those with unread messages.


TOOLBAR BUTTONS NOT AVAILABLE IN CERTAIN THEMES

In Thunderbird 1.5 (and higher for some themes), the 4 toolbar buttons that nntpthreads adds to the toolbar DO NOT display with the following themes: Crossover, Littlebird, MicroThunderbird, Nautipolis, Noia 2.0 eXtreme, Noia 2.0 lite, Tiger Mail, Walnut, Winstripe.

The 4 toolbar buttons DO display with these themes: 708090, 708090-lite, AquaBird, Azerty Mail, BlackJapan-tb, Futurama, Lopburi Flat, miniBird, Mostly Crystal, Outlook 2003 Blue, Outlook 2003 Green, Outlook 2003 Silver, Phoenity Thunderbird, PitchBlack, Silver Skin, Thunderbird (default).

BUMPED VERSION FOR THUNDERBIRD 2.0 and 3.0

The author has not updated this extension for later versions of Thunderbird, but that will probably happen when those versions are out of alpha/beta status. If you are a beta tester like me, you sometimes can't wait for updates. So here is a bumped version that will work on TB 2.0 and 3.0. The official version for TB 1.0 and 1.5 is there as well.

DOES NOT WORK ON MAC

Marco De Vitis reported on Dec 6, 2006, that nntpthreads does not work on the Mac OS X platform.

"The toolbar buttons are invisible in Thunderbird 1.5.0.8 on MacOS X."
