Firesizer

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

I regularly need to incorporate screenshots into documentation of Web applications. Firesizer is THE tool to set my browser to a known size so that screenshots taken across several days are all consistently sized. Excellent add-on!

Works wonderfully. Very handy because stand-alone tools designed to specify the size of Windows windows don't work well, if at all, with Firefox.

Google Reader Notifier

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

Like several others, I began experiencing login problems when running the latest version of Google Reader Notifier ("GRN") in conjunction with NoScript.

Here's how I circumvented the problem:

1. In NoScript Options, chose Advanced > XSS.

2. In the Anti-XXX Protection Exceptions text entry area, added the following exception: ^https://([a-z]+)\.google\.com/accounts/

3. Restarted Firefox to apply the new exception.

The next time I started GRN, it was able to connect.

Note that GRN's developer will address this problem in a new version of GRN after he returns from vacation...

Cheers & hope this helps,
Ric

CookieSafe

Puntuado con 5 de 5 estrellas

CookieSafe has been such an integral part of my Firefox configuration that I can't remember when I first installed it (1.5?)

It took a couple of days to figure out exactly how I preferred it to work (there are a *lot* of options), but now I deny all cookies by default, then use CookieSafe to selectively enable cookies temporarily, by session, or permanently on a per-site basis.

Nostalgy

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

It took me a day or so to "get it", but now that I do I really like Nostalgy a lot.

It makes it so much faster and easier to move messages around using only the keyboard.

If T'bird is your primary email client (it's mine), I'd recommend installing Nostalgy and taking the time to learn how to use it -- you'll almost certainly like it, too...

accountex

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

Accountex is an excellent beginning. One can but wonder why Thunderbird doesn't provide a native capability for exporting account settings for backup or exchange purposes.

If only Accountex could export-import multiple account's settings at a single time (rather than one-by-one) it would be even handier...

AttachmentExtractor

Puntuado con 4 de 5 estrellas

Attachment Extractor is a reasonably useful Thunderbird plug-in. Where things fall apart is that one is frequently notified that a new version is available, but neither the T'bird Add-ons Web site or the author's own page has that current version. It's really annoying and I wish the author would stop this from happening once and for all...
