This add-on fulfills an import role for anyone who want to be able to write to their Google Calendar from within Lightning.

Unfortunately, once you're done creating your calendars, and them de-select "check for new calendars", and you them add another Google Calendar you want to write to, there seems no way get the dialog back that upgrades the new calendar for write access.
