Worked great with Skype 4.3.0.37 on Ubuntu 16.10.
But with the latest skypeforlinux (5.0.0.5) the phone number is not passed on any longer. Phone number is highlighted showing "skype:+123412341234?call", the Skype window pops into the foreground, but the highlighted number is not passed any longer. It would be wonderful to have this functionality back.

I use this app, from the begin, only on the with the latest firefox, it's verry slow, it slows down/ freezes firefox, for a couple of seconds.
Please fix this, .

Doesn't work well if Thunderbird Conversations is also active :(

Used this add-on for some time now and found it really useful. However, I've had some serious performance problems (mainly with scrolling) with Firefox ever-since I've installed it. Firefox 46 finally came with the about:performance tool, which confirmed my suspicions - telify consistently comes up as slowing down my browser. After removing it everything went back to normal.
Sorry - it's a useful add-on, but until the performance problems are solved, I'm out.

First thanks for the excellent add-on! Is it somehow possible to handle tel: hyperlinks with a custom URL as "action"? I have a Yealink phone and plain phone numbers are recognized, but not the tel: links.
Thanks.

Has no effect at all on links on my copy of Firefox 43.0.3 on Linux.

Update:
As of the latest version the bug is now fixed. Thanks Michael

This app works great for us but seems to have a few issues when we try to use certain addons & features in Thunderbird. When using the Lightning addon, ThunderStats addon, or global search (built into Thunderbird) an error pops up saying "TypeError: content is null". Disabling the Telify addon fixes the issue. The popup doesn't seem to affect anything other than being quite annoying after a while.

Telify enabled us to dial numbers with one click directly from Firefox. To attain this, we only had to chose "tel" protocol within Telify configuration panel and then -- very important -- register our phone software (Pimphony in our case) for "tel" protocol. Although supporting "tel", our phone software (Pimphony again) wasn't automatically detected/registered for "tel".
To do so, you only need to open Firefox configuration panel/setup (not add ons section) and registrate your phone-application for "tel" right here. If your phone software doesn't support tel protocol may check the other protocols telify supports. Thanks for sharing Telify with the community.

Excellent !

Works perfectly and very smooth for Firefox and Thunderbird in combination with SFLphone under Ubuntu Linux 12.10!
With SFLphone you need a little call script which can be found on their website.

Easy to use, unobtrusive, easy to turn off. One shortcoming: does not recognize phone numbers that don't "look" like phone numbers. A problem for me as a site I use often lists 10 digits with no dashes, spaces, or parentheses. Would love to see this ability added.

Thanks for such a great tool. It's really helpful. Would have few suggestions though.
1. Could you make it to replace protocols for default? For example I use X-Lite and it recognizes only sip: protocol, so I would like all the other (tel:, callto:) to be changed to sip:
2. Could you make it so it adds country prefix by default (always) if number has for example beetwen 9 and 10 characters?

Regards,
jukooz

Had this working for our Yealink phones in 30 seconds and it does just what it needs to do, nothing more, nothing less, and it does it well! Great job.

Nice little unobtrusive plugin, but REALLY wish could figure out a way to use it with Google Voice since I am not really much of a Skype user

Since version 1.2.4 the highlighted phone number can now even be selected for copying to the clipboard.
More knowledge to better detect phone numbers and reduce false positives, would further improve this useful add-on for frequent callers. For example detect country (from host name) and apply country specific rules like available ranges (voippro.com download-able rate list has 30.054 routes in august 2011) and include minimum and maximum number length in the algorithm whether a number is a phone number or not..

Very good app, but seems to be spotty as to what apps are covered. It picks numbers from websites, but not on Gmail Contacts (?!), or my Zoho CRM. Bummer.

Excellent add on, very useful for frequent phone calls.
It would be even better if you could dial the phone numbers from the Address Book.
All the best!!
