In the beginning, it worked as advertised. After a couple of weeks, the calendar stopped synchronizing. I contacted OWL twice, providing the error log and snapshots, but haven't received any reply or acknowledgment of receipt 5 days later. Given that I use the calendar function daily for my work, I had to go back to the online Outlook app. I understand that the company might not be able to answer the support very fast, however, at least an acknowledgment of receipt to know that someone is looking into the issue, would be good.

The plug-in seems to work great for its stated purpose. However, it causes the "End to End Encryption" menu (e2ee) to become inaccessible. The option disappears from all accounts, and the one link to the menu doesn't display the e2ee menu. This is a problem as you cannot configure your S/MIME or OpenPGP encryption options if you use this plug in.

It just works. It's simple to install and configure. I've been using it for 6 months: email and calendar both sync perfectly.

I had been using Hiri for a few years and had repeated problems with it getting broken every month or two and having to reinstall or remove my account and set it up again from scratch.

I have zero problems with Thunderbird and OWL: it's completely stable and has far more capabilities and a better UI than Hiri did.

ottima soluzione per utilizzare account exchange su thunderbird: si configura con estrema facilità e funziona senza problemi, ti dimentichi anche di averlo installato.

Problem with actual time synchronization at calendar on Thunderbird 91.11 (linux).

Sometimes the current time red line at calendar does not correspond to the actual system time. (2hour difference, but not always?!)

As a workaround is possible to restart Thunderbird.

This user has a previous review of this add-on.

Functionality-wise: 4 stars

When this extension works (which is usually does) it works well. I wish there was a community forum for help section on the vendor's website, however.

Tip: If you use "web UI" for the authentication method to OWA and you get a "NegotiateSecurityContext" error after logging in, OWL will "helpfully" tell you that it is "always a problem of the server".

For me, the fix was to go to thunderbird's advanced settings (about:config if you have BrowseInTab extension) and change general.useragent.compatMode.firefox from "false" to "true" (there is still an OWL quirk where it won't close the login window it pops up due to another OWA error, but it doesn't affect functionality as it is able to grab the session token).

When the extension works, it works well. When it doesn't (e.g. dropping random unmodified calendar events, or reinitializing after failures) support doesn't provide any way to debug the issue or to reinitialize the plugin without recreating the entire Thunderbird profile.

well . . . if it does not work after buying the license and no response from customer support . . . how many stars would that deserve?

This is a fantastic add-on. Is there a way to connect more than one calendar? I use a second private calendar besides the default one for work.

Since TB 102, I have an issue with the Unified Folders view. On start up, it opens the unified inbox and has two copies of the exchange account inbox. When I click and unclick the All Folders option, it is corrected. Next time I start the app, the same thing happens. In TB 91.12.0 this does not happen.

Otherwise, it is an excellent extension well worth the price to avoid outlook.

I would give 5 stars and say it is well worth the price, until a month ago: my company implemented a new requirements for OWA to work. First, in Firefox I have to enable an option to "Allow Windows SSO". Second they expect the user agent string to be one of a few browsers on windows or mac.

In the first case, TBird doesnt have an option to enable Windows SSO. In the second case, OWL claims to be on a Linux machine which fails the browser check.

Granted, some of this may be beyond Beonex to solve, but I wish they would try. I've got to see about cancelling my yearly subscription.

So, users, just be aware that your outlook server could get reconfigured to not let OWL work for you. Believe me I'm missing Thunderbird badly now that I've had to go to Outlook. If it was made to work with my company's servers again, I'd pay twice as much for OWL.

It's functional, though I still have to use the web OWA for a few things. Support for shared calendars is high on my wishlist.

Worked like a charm and got me out of a pinch when GoDaddy forced their migration to Office / Outlook. Only needed it for the 30-day free trial but was happy to purchase a year anyways :)

Hey Greg, I'm happy that Owl helped you and worked well for you. Thanks so much for your positive review! I wish you the best for your migration.

I used to really like this, but since TB102 the dynamic accounts created by the add-on are lost in saved searches at each restart. I sent a support request, which went into a black hole apparently. I will happily change my rating if someone from Beonex will engage.

UPDATE: Thank you for responding to my support request and here! Looking forward to the update...

Thank you for your bug report. Thunderbird 102 changed (again!) the startup timing of addons, which again broke a few things. We fixed the obvious problems, but this may have broken Saved Searches. We'll have to look into this.

I can’t find any information about the complete compatibility of Gufo with Thunderbird 102.1.1. Is it?
Many thanks.

Very nice and useful addon. I'm using it for calendar events synchronization with company Exchange server via Activesync. Everything seems working properly, all events are correctly synchronized. But I have problem with sending acceptation of Calendar invitation. It is not working. When I sending acceptation, I have receiving error message Error code: MODIFICATION_FAILED. Error 0x80004005.
My configuration:
Windows 10 64bit, Thunderbird 102.0.3, OWL 0.8.2.
Synchronization setting is with ActiveSync (owl-eas).

This review is for a previous version of the add-on (0.8.2).

It really is a replacement for Microsoft Outlook. Nice job.

Thank you for this nice compliment! I am glad that you find Owl productive.
