Why is there a button to "Add To Thunderbird"? What's this button suppose to do?

I tried over a dozen different ones and each time it tell me to get Thunderbird. Why again? Do I need a new Thunderbird installation for each add-on download?

Funny stuff, really, I'm having a ball try figuring out the download button. Awesome button maze - quest - headache!
