Great. Thank you.
This addon is so important!

That is funny. I tested your idea.
What I found: After changes within Quicktext I have to exit TB. Then open the templates.xml with notepad++, then simply change the encoding to "UCF-2 Little Endian", save – and finished. Everything works fine.
(I did not have to do anything with FFFE)

Thank you for your text. I don't quite understand. Do you mean, after having "repaired" the file, everything works fine with Quicktext?
The problem with Quicktext in TB 38.01 "starts", whenever one "saves" something within Quicktext and one starts TB again. Do you mean, after "saving" something I should "repair" the xml-File with "FF FE", and then everything is fine? That would be a shorter Workaround...
Concerning "FF FE": Do I have to place that totally on Top (at the beginning) of the file?

Within TB 38.01 you must not change anything in Quicktext 9.11.5 and save it – »save« is the problem. After new start of TB 38.01 Quicktext does not work correctly.
Correction respectively workaround:
– Install Thunderbird 31.7 (at Start cancel Actualization of addons)
– Install Quicktext 9.11.5 again (THIS ONE: https://addons.mozilla.org/de/thunderbird/addon/quicktext/?src=external-Add-ons_Manager_Context_Menu-extension – not the one on the HP of Emil Hesslow, seems to be buggy)
– Then make Changes you want in Quicktext and save.
– Then install Thunderbird 38.01 again – and everything is okay. Quicktext works as it should!
(For me this workaround is okay, as I do not often make changes in Quicktext.)
