Very handy and to the point addon. There are a couple of issues. It references folders through account1, account2, etc.. So, if the same name is used for folders across accounts, it is hard to know which one is which. Please replace the accountN with the first and last 3 letters of the email, or the first 7 letters? or something customizable.
Also there is a bug with thunderbird, where these shortcuts are not effective until the add-ons manager is opened. Everybody is putting the onus on others. I am surprised not many people are complaining about it.

This is an extremely helpful add-on. For some reason, the shortcut key "Ctrl+Shift+A: move a message and jump to the same folder" is not working. I even went to the "Manage Extension Shortcuts" in TBird, removed the default shortcut (Ctrl+Shift+A) and added it back in, closed TBird and restarted it, and it's still not working.
Also, 2 other requests:
1. Any chance the 3 commands (move-to-folder, jump-to-folder, and move-and-jump-to-folder) could be added to TBird's "Message menu"?
2. Could the code be written such that the shortcut keys would be available from the actual message window (instead of only from the main Folders window)?
Even without those requests, I very much appreciate this extension!

I was using Quick Folder Move, but it stopped working with the upgrade to 128. This works perfectly.
Many thanks!

This extension used to be amazingly useful to make my work faster but, without the full folder paths, it is now useless to me.

Dear arjenbva,
first of all thank you very much for putting the effort into creating this extension!
It is working great!!
Since the recent TB update, I'm on v115.9.0., I have the following problem:
When I try to move a message to a folder it is no more showing the path, only the folder itself.
For example:
I have several folders which all have a subfolder called "logs".
When I try to move a message to "logs" I'm not able to distinguish which folder it actually is.
May I ask you to look into your code and update it?
I'm not able to do it, otherwise I would contribute on github.
Cheers

How to contact you to send you fixes? Do you have public repository (github/gitlab) for this extension?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7).here it is: https://github.com/arjanarcheologie/mmy
I'm not a regular developer, just sharing what might be useful for others. But let's hit the road: if you have fixes submit them at this github repository.

I too can't find the preferences tab for the add-on. Could you tell me where it is? Thanks!

Working great in 78.9.0 but where do I find the preferences tab to choose custom shortcuts? I'm lost.
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (1.7).You need the "Manage Extension Shortcuts" tab.
It can be found via menu: Tools, Add-ons and Themes, click on the wheel up right and you'll find: Manage Extension Shortcuts.
Sorry for my very late reply, hope you found it in the mean time.

Does not work at all with Thunderbird 78.5.1. Please add a way to submit bug reports.
EDIT: Thanks for the fix.
I updated the addon, it should now work for TB78

Just what I was looking for. Thunderbird 68 seems to have issues bulk moving messages. I wanted to archive messages locally from 5 years ago. I was moving them one at a time. This add-on works perfectly. Thanks developer!

Really Very Good add-on, Since the Move to Folder no longer support TB 68. It is very good replacement. However, Since I set the archived emails in an separated local account, with same folder structure in Years. So there is many folders in same names after years. It is not very convince to choose in the middle from long list.
Hope some of the account or root folder can be hidden in the filter list. It will be perfect.

Re your comments. Thanks for your quick response. I have checked my folders and found at least eleven (11) with the word "manual" in their name (there could be more, and there will be more in the future).

Requested adding the parent folder name and arjenbva implemented. Thanks a million!

Need a way to distinguish between boxes with identical names. For instance, when I type "inb" in the search field, I see three folders named "Inbox" from the three accounts I have with no way to tell which is which. Same applies to identically named subfolders. E.g. I want to organize my work email by product name/qualification test name. So, I have several subfolders name "TC" under different product folders. Again, there is no way to tell which is which.
I'd like to see the app showing the parent folder or the parent account when search finds folders with identical names.

Simple and effective. Both features (filing mail and to jump to folder) are foundational for my use, in any case, of Tbird. Many, many thanks.
Drop list appears a touch slowly - just learn to wait 0.5 sec.
Standard comment, for Mac it is "command" not "control"-Shift-Z/X

Thanks for this useful addon! However,
it sometimes refuses to move mails containing attachments
it would be helpful if the dropdown menu showed not only the folder names (that may occasionally be identical) but also their respective paths
I lost two mails because the addon just flagged them as moved but didn't actually move them, so they were deleted by the next folder compaction

Really helpfull, thank you for this add-on, I really appreciate it.
Only a problem: in my Ubuntu config, the shortcut shift-ctrl-Z don't work. As stated in a previous comment: could leave user to set a different shortcut?
Anyway thanks for your work.
You can choose your own shortcut key in the latest version.

I also like this alternative to good all "Quick Folder Move" but need some enhancements:
1) the list of folders in the little window should be updated with the latest one used
2) also could have a way to use it from inside the message ... I can only use it when seing the list of messages
3) shortest names for the buttons in the toolbar
Please continue working in this addon ;-)
Best regards.

Congratulations - this is a helpful utility. I endorse the previous comments and also suggest, for a future version:
1. Provide selection of move-message or move-yourself functions by right-clicking the icon.
2. Reduce the space it takes in the toolbar by abbreviating the two functions to 'Move-You' and 'Move-Msg'.
3. Use capitalised words (as above), consistent with the Thunderbird toolbar items, for a neater appearance.
4. No need for the default label 'Move message or yourself1.3' on TB start. Just show 'Move' until choice of function, or default to the more useful option (probably moving messages).
Thanks again: keep up the good work!

It does exactly what it promises.
It could be better if - in a newer version -
1) would show recent folders when you just press the button
2) could leave user to set a different shortcut
Thanks for sharing your work!
