Sadly out of date but the effect can be easily replicated:
Open the Menu and go to Preferences > General. Scroll all the way down and at the very bottom, click the Config Editor... button (accept the warning).

You're looking for layout.css.devPixelsPerPx, you can just search 'pixels' and it'll show up.

Click on layout.css.devPixelsPerPx and edit the default value of -1.0 to a scale factor you are comfortable with (example: 1.5, 2.0, 2.25, etc).

Clicking OK will allow you to immediately see your changes so you can dial it in pretty easily.

It would be really useful if some instructions had been provided as to how to set this up - because it sounds really useful? As it is there are no instructions anywhere (and clicking on the support site just sends you to a weird site full of gibberish IT stuff) - so at the moment, this is useless to me, sorry!

My query and the attachment at
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1392666
shows that TB has become almost useless to me. Your addon corrects the display by changing the spacing and font size and so saves the day. However, the display font is too small. Is there a way for me to increase it?

Doesn't seem to do anything. No discernable change in the size of the text in the message list

Did the job and it just looks way better now. The Text is not squeezed together anymore

Unfortunately this did not work for me with Thunderbird 78.13.0 under Ubuntu 20 LTS. It made the fonts smaller. But it did not enlarge the space (padding) between the lines.

What worked for me was another add-on with a similar name: https://addons.thunderbird.net/en-US/thunderbird/addon/larger-message-list/

Now there is more space between the messages in the list. This is much easier to read.

I can not really rate this Add-on here, but as the site insists I have to rate it, I give it three stars. I hope it does work for others.
