My Reviews
Lightning
Rated 1 out of 5 stars
This is about Lightning 3.3.1 on Thunderbird 31.1.2. In short, the addon would be great, but I experience a serious bug that prevents using Thunderbird in general.
I use Gmail and Google Calendar, and wanted to have an offline solution in Thunderbird. Feature wise, it does almost all that I want, except showing events in the same color as on Google Calendar.
Install notes: it doesn't work out of the box with Google, Provider for Google Calendar is required and be set up properly.
After three weeks of use, unfortunately, I had to uninstall it. When writing messages, Thunderbird hang for several seconds, before continuing. After countless hours spent to find the root cause of the issue, some forums suggested it might be due to Lightning. After uninstalling, the problems disappeared. I can only give one star, as it prevents Thunderbird from working in daily use. I'm happy to review my rating if the problem is corrected.
The bug hasn't been solved since 2014, the latest report is from 29 Sep 2014, as I write now.

I recommend Google Calendar Tab instead, which provides a similar functionality (Calendar inside Thunderbird window), although not offline.
Send and Archive
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
As a Gmail user, and practicing the INBOX ZERO habit, I use this add-on a lot to archive all mail that I have read/replied.
Would be great to have a built-in shortcut for this feature (so no programming with Keyconfig etc. necessary). For example override Ctrl+Enter for Send+Archive, when it is available. Or use Ctrl+Shift+Alt+Enter.
To add a shortcut manually via keyconfig:
1. Download keyconfig, and install it through the add-ons panel: http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewtopic.php?t=72994
2. Start writing a new message, and go to Tools\Keyconfig, +Add new a new key
3. Name: SendAndArchive
Command: goDoCommand('cmd_sendAndArchive')
Shortcut: Alt+Ctrl+Shift+Enter
Close, and that's it. You might need to restart Thunderbird.

Great addon, I love it. Hope there will be some more stats, like in Google does for Gmail. Would be nice to somehow eliminate non-useful recipients from stats, like automated messages, etc.

Does what it promises, this feature could be part of the core version of Thunderbird.
