My Reviews
Custom Buttons
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
vasyabelkin is correct about my old review being not entirely right, although, I must say that it would certainly be nice if this came with a few more instructions on how to use it.
I don't know how I discovered that buttons could be edited by right clicking them, on my own, but if I had to guess, it's probably because I'm customizing my toolbars so much that eventually I got one of the buttons.
I find this to be actually extremely useful now, and one of my best add-ons I have. The number one thing that bothers me still is that the primary coding that the buttons are written in is JavaScript for XUL, and you haven't mentioned this explicitly.
YesScript
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
I'm editting this, and really wondering where my review went... (for some reason it wasn't appearing)
It's a nice idea, but it doesn't really do what I want. If I blacklist a site like Youtube, it stops the video from autoplaying, but it doesn't stop other websites that are set to autoplay embedded Youtube videos from autoplaying. It doesn't really do what I want if I blacklist a site and it still allows scripts from that site that are being run on another site (but are actually linked, coming from that site) perhaps this is a compatibility issue, as I first had NoScript, and am testing it along side NoScript. The idea of having a blacklist as an alternative to a whitelist (or even alongside it) was a nice idea, but it isn't working as well as I had hoped.
Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks
Rated 2 out of 5 stars
There really is no way around it when "Disable Add-on Compatibility Checks" isn't compatible with Firefox 8. :x
I'm sure that you need to use this one carefully, as there's ...-usually- a reason as to why something is marked incompatible, but with that in mind then, it should be compatible with newer versions, because we certainly can't use this add-on on itself. (that would be redundant or paradoxical)
BBCodeXtra
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
This is really great, I'd love to give you a perfect score, but I only do that for add-ons that are perfect. There's a couple of additions that would make this a whole lot better still.
• Make it so that I have the option to turn off the "Clipboard" options. Very useful, but with the current layout, I'd prefer to not have it in the list.
• Create a button that I can put on the add-on bar, vertical sidebar, or navigation bar. My right click list has gotten quite long, and frankly, a button would work a lot better for me.
• Allow users to create customs for bbcode, or other, so that bbcode customs can be accessed directly from the bbcode list, and html customs can be accessed directly from it's list. (I don't think xhtml should have customs; I'm pretty sure it's a higher standard)
The lack of a button is the number one thing that's keeping me from saying this is close enough to perfect.
