This app has not been maintained since 2010 and seems to be completely broken under TB 31.x. A shame, the functionality is needed.

on 9.0.1 I installed it, restarted thunderbird, and the options were in the message menu pulldown, but did not seem to include the attachments when I tried it on a few messages. Then I restarted thunderbird and the option is not in the menu anymore.

As many other user raised the same requirement, I just want to emphasize that:
what we want is to reply the mail with original attachment, without any more action.
As now, it will only warn me if I forget the attachment, if I wish to "reply with attachment".

4 star to encourage the update!

What user Dan wants is exactly what I want - ability to reply to a message that contained attachments, and preserve the attachments. This is very useful if there are a lot of recipients (making forwarding the message a clumsy approach) and it's important that the endpoint of the email conversation contains all the original supporting material - e.g. for an approvals situation.

Hi TAA,

This is in response to your question: "I don't understand your review. Are you saying you want the attachments to be sent back to the sender -- the attachments they just sent to you?"

I don't know what the OP meant, but for me, the answer is absolutely, positively yes.

If i get an attachment that i don't understand, or that seems to be missing something, i want to be able to write back to the sender and say "This attachment you sent me is missing XYZWUV". The sender may very well have sent me the wrong attachment, or deleted it, or for other reasons i want to be able to say "This is the very attachment you sent, and can you please look over it again?"

An additional reason for being able to reply-with-attachment is that you can add people to the CC or BCC or TO fields. They will see wording about the attachment, but not the attachment itself.

It is quite cumbersome to have to save the attachment from the original message, then attach it to the new one.

(And the reason i happened across this page was i was looking for an add-on to do exactly this: reply-with-attachment,
meaning, send the attachment right back to the original sender, without a bunch of extra steps.)

Question, i like this Add-on. but I want to use it with Postbox Express. Is it possible to make it work with that?

I don't understand your review. Are you saying you want the attachments to be sent back to the sender -- the attachments they just sent to you? Or are you editing the attachments you've received (like Word documents?) and that's why you want an add-on to re-attach the edited files automatically, for sending back to all recipients? I'd like to understand your use-case. Maybe you're doing something I could benefit from as well. :D

I switched from Pegasus email several years ago and it had the feature that warned you about forgetting an attachment. I really missed that. This plug-in does exactly that. Thanks! Now I don't have to write it!

I REALLY love the pre-scanning feature of this extension which checks for key words in my messages! 75% of the time that I intend to send an attachment I would forget.... now I don't have to worry about looking like an airhead any more!... Woo hoo!

Thunderbird has this annoying habit of not including attachments when replying to an email that already has items attached. I thought this add-on would automatically include the attachments when using the 'Reply with attachments' option but it does not. It simply gives a warning and an empty attachment box.

This is better than before, but not a complete solution to Thunderbird's pure lack of functionality for 'reply' capabilities.

Any chances it will be enhanced?

This extension has saved me numerous times from sending emails without attachments. I can't imagine not having it.
