External Application Buttons mod for Firefox 3.0+
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Just tested. Works great with https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/15003 installed (or with addon version check ignored).
External Application Buttons mod for Firefox 3.0+
Rated 5 out of 5 stars
Have been using this heavily to quickly move between the various browsers. I'd love more flexibility in sorting buttons, but most of all I'd like compatibility with Fx 3.6. If I have to wait too long, I'd risk ignoring the version check, but would prefer a more reassuring option for reinstall. Please !!
SyncPlaces
Rated 4 out of 5 stars
SyncPlaces 3.6.1 (currently on Andy's site) has the unencrypted password file problem fixed. I've installed the new version, tested it and sighed with relief. Thanks!

A much needed addon, and I would actually rate it 3,5 stars if I could. Works for me, but set up WAS complicated and not problem-free, so I recommend this addon for advanced users only.
I encountered such issues:
* maybe it's the 3.6.0 version I installed today (from developer's site), but local backup of passwords did NOT encrypt the file and I only discovered that by accident... Careful with that button!
* I would like to have totally independent save/backup paths for bookmarks and passwords. I only use SyncPlaces for password sync / backup. I unchecked all I could but the addon reports sending and receiving bookmarks as well, and the bookmarks do get backed up in the FF3 profile. Does not bother me very much, but I would prefer to only see encrypted password files saved and sent if I so choose in the Options
* A minor tech issue: On clicking Send, the Synchronization status popup only showed the title bar. I needed to drag down the bottom border to see what was happening with the connection.
Password Exporter
Rated 3 out of 5 stars
Used it for a while, but (temporariily?) gave up in favour of SyncPlaces. My problem was the fact that the 'obfuscate' feature , once called 'Encrypt', was not equipped with a personal encryption key. Password exporter would always export and import your passwords using the same algorithm, so the encrypted file did not really provide a safe backup. The author does warn of this, but really a more visible alert would be needed inside the addon's dialog.

Rated 4 out of 5 stars
Great add-on already, but one important feature missing for me: keeping the results of a check. Instead of re-running the checker each time and waiting, I'd also like to be able to re-load a past check result. It would be even more convenient if good and bad links could be marked with an tell-tale icon and a time-stamp of the last check, e.g. in the Bookmarks manager. Newly appearing bookmarks, not yet checked, would simply have nothing there. A simple workaround for all of the above might be a simple txt or html report file to save. Hope these suggestions are useful. Thanks!
