Good idea, but I could not figure out how to use it for one simple task: Open Google Calendar WebSite in one simple tab next to my e-mail tab.
Instead, I got URL bars on top in each mail (WTF?! Where can I turn this off?). If I double click a mail to get a new tab, I can use the URL bar to surf. But as soon as I switch to mail tab and back to web tab, there is the mail again which I used to create a new tab which makes the whole concept implode.
This extension could have been very useful, but at least one of the following assumptions are true:
* I am too stupid to use it although I use TB many years or
* it is not compatible with TB 3.0 final or
* the extension is a mess
Give it a try but do not expect too much.
It earns one star because the uninsall worked (for me).
Yes, tab switching resets the message pane. This is a well known bug and from what I can tell it seems to be that Thunderbird recreates it's tabs (thus sharing the same tab elements) on switches. This would be the reason stuff refreshes.
The FAQ told you how to turn off the URL bar on all tabs. Not my fault you didn't read it. In addition, you could have tried the tabs build if you wanted your tabs to be broken out from the main messagepane.
