Most other remarks say it pretty well so i'll spare the tech talk and add two words of my own that i think will help others decide about using this:
Gar Bage.

Would have been 5 stars when it worked. Seems to be dead now. The website mentions nothing about the extension or what it does and the options in the extension don't seem to do anything.

it not working anymore .....
im missing it a lot.
can anyone indicate whether its addon is under development or dead. All indication pointing towards it extinction, not even their website working.
if its dead .. this should be removed from Mozilla site,

A very useful tool, if it works.
In the last weeks it seems to be dead.
Even the site messagelevel.com seems to be completeley dead.

When it works, it works very well. As an example, it works well with all my private account addresses where email is sent directly to me.
But it clearly has a scripting issue - particularly when handling distribution list emails from sites such as sourceforge.net When attempting to process these, 9 out of 10 times the script will hang in such a way that I have to end it or it will hang indefinitely.
Also the "Do Not Scan Folder List" has a bug. The last item must have a trailing comma or it is not ignored with the others in the list.
Otherwise, its very close to being ready for prime-time. It has great features, and I very much look forward to the next update.

Very good ideas, but... Too many bugs, still on version 0.8.4. I wish it would work. It would be one of my favorites. :-(

I'm testing this add-on for a view days now and overall it looks cool. I found nevertheless that if I activate the check at start-up I get an script error. Also It does not always checks all mail sometimes it does nothing at all. Also the right click on a map and asking to check it does not always work. It needs a lot of work but could become a hot extension!

When its working, it seems to work great. Unfortunately, for no apparent reason, it seems to hang every now and then. I use IMAP for all of my mail accounts, and when it hangs, my mail is completely inaccessible. I hope they fix the bugs - this is a great app.

If this worked well it would be wicked, but when I try to authenticate my emails, I get a popup saying a script has stopped running or is slow. The only way i can authenticate an email is to double click it so it opens in a new window, and even then the script issue raises its head. Great program, just needs a script issue addressed.

Good idea but way to many bugs to be useful. Crashes constantly. Took me hours to figure out this was causing all the problems & no matter what settings I used it was still crashing Thunderbird.
Use this at your own risk I will wait for a new version.

Works fine for me although at first my email address didn't register with Message Level. A retry sorted it all out.

Idea behind the extension seems nice, but way to bugged to be useful (and potentially harmful):
- marks all of my own mail as fraudulent, since it does not add required headers to outgoing email (after proper setup)
- does not recognize all mail-servers in the Return Path for the "Return Path Reputation Score"
- Does not save "Do No Scan Folders List"
- Pressing "Junk Mail Controls" in the Options window brings up an empty dialog.
- Stumbles/Crashes/Hangs TB on messages with malformed / compromised Return-Path / Received headers
- Authors do not reply to bugreports, though they seem to fix some of the bugs reported
