"Would you only want the Today colors to take priority in the Day View, not in the Week/Month/Multi-Week Views ?"
May be Today only? Because user`s mistake with "Today-DayView mix" in Week/Month/Multi-Week Views is unlikely, as I think...

"...Today colors would take priority in the Day View"
Yes :)
Would you only want the Today colors to take priority in the Day View, not in the Week/Month/Multi-Week Views ?

Very good! :)
Can You add option to change background color of today and selected day in Day View?
Calendar Tweaks already has options to change the background colors for Today and the Selected Day. These colors apply in all views including the Day View.
In all views, if the Selected Day is today, then the Selected Day colors take priority over the Today colors. This means that in the Day View the background color will always be the Selected Day color.
Are you looking for an option, so that the Today colors would take priority in the Day View?

Color box are very small - can it about 30% (wide) of event box?

And I can not see two colors (for example, gradient left to right) - both calendar and category?
This review is for a previous version of the add-on (4.0).If the "Apply category color to event backgrounds" option is enabled, the calendar color is no longer shown on events. If this option is disabled, the event background color is the calendar color and there is a small category color box (i.e. exactly as with normal Lightning).
It would be possible to develop a new version of Calendar Tweaks, so that when the "Apply category color to event backgrounds" option is enabled, the event background color would be the category color and there would also be a small calendar color box. Would this meet your needs?

Now I can see event by category color only (and do not see calendar color at all) :(
Can I see both colors in event (50/50): 1 - calendar, 2 - category?
With the latest version of Calendar Tweaks, you have the option to color event backgrounds with the category color, instead of the normal calendar color.
This feature can be enabled/disabled as follows:
- Select Tools on the Thunderbird main menu, and then select Add-ons to show the Add-ons Manager
- Select the Extensions tab
- Click on the Options button in the Calendar Tweaks entry
- Enable or disable the "Apply category color to event backgrounds" option.
