How It Works
VFS Toolkit WebDAV Provider is a shared WebDAV account manager for Thunderbird. Other add-ons that need access to a WebDAV file storage can ask this provider to set up and manage the connection on their behalf.
When an add-on requests access, a setup page opens to enter a connection name, server URL, and credentials, or select an already configured account. The provider probes the server to confirm the WebDAV endpoint and saves the account.
All saved accounts and active connections are visible in the Options page of the provider. From there users can add or remove accounts, and revoke access for individual add-ons.
Because WebDAV does not support push notifications, the provider detects external file changes by polling the server at a configurable interval (default: 60 seconds). Setting the interval to 0 disables polling.
