InboxAI is a Thunderbird extension that uses artificial intelligence to help users write, polish, and translate email content. We are committed to protecting user privacy and to processing data in a transparent and minimal manner.

2. Data Processed

The Add-on processes text content only when explicitly triggered by the user. This may include:

Text that the user inputs or selects (e.g., email drafts or text snippets)

Language or writing preferences chosen by the user

The Add-on does not collect personal information such as names, email addresses, account credentials, browsing history, or tracking data.

3. Purpose of Data Use

User-provided text is processed solely for the purpose of:

Writing or rewriting email content

Polishing grammar, tone, or style

Translating text between languages

The data is not used for analytics, advertising, tracking, or profiling.

4. Data Storage and Retention

The Add-on does not store user input, generated output, or usage data

No user data is logged, cached, or retained locally or on any server

All data exists only temporarily for the duration of the API request and is discarded immediately after processing

5. Third-Party AI Services

To provide AI-powered functionality, the Add-on sends user-provided text to a third-party AI service via secure API calls, only when required to fulfill the user’s request.

Only the minimum necessary data is transmitted

No additional data collection is performed

The data is not used for advertising, tracking, or analytics purposes

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties

User data is shared only with the AI API strictly for generating the requested output

The Add-on processes content only after explicit user action

Users have full control over what text is submitted for processing and when

8. Open-Source Transparency

This Add-on is open source. The source code is publicly available at https://github.com/Leonui/Thunderbird-InboxAI, allowing independent review of its data handling and privacy practices.
